Christmas Eve “Choir”

We are looking for singers to sing 3-4 familiar songs on Christmas Eve right at the beginning of the service and then one song toward the end.  Please join us for rehearsal 6:30 pm this Tuesday, December 18.  There will be an additional short rehearsal on Saturday, December 22, time to be determined.  If you have any questions contact Make Sager (330-607-6850).

Crosspoint Family Gifts

In past years we have collected monetary donations in order to share with Crosspoint families who are struggling this time or year.  This year we have received an anonymous gift that has gotten us well on our way.  If you would like to make a donation to add to the total, please place it in the specially marked envelopes found on the Welcome Table and put it in the offering basket by Sunday, December 16th.

Now Hiring a Worship Leader

Mike Sager, our current worship leader, has accepted a new secular job which will require him to travel.  We have a plan for Mike and a couple others to cover our worship services until we hire a new part time worship leader.  We are seeking a Worship Leader who will lead people closer to God and others during worship events through music. The Worship Leader will also be responsible for the development and coordination of Worship Teams. Send cover letter and resume to resumescrosspoint@gmail.com or 9687 Portage St. NW, Massillon, OH 44646.  A job description has been posted on our Facebook Page and website (crosspointumc.org).

Christmas Eve Luminaries

Once again this year on Christmas Eve we will have candle luminaries lighting our way to worship.  We are in need of plastic gallon milk cartons.  Please wash out your empty milk cartons and bring them with you on Sunday.  Please contact Allen Wells (330-417-0254) or Nikki Wells (330-417-0331) with any questions.

Refuge of Hope Winter Coat and Hat Drive

Refuge of Hope not only serves meals, but also has a men’s emergency shelter and distributes items to women and children as well to help them make it through the winter.  We will be collecting shoes, coats, hats, gloves and socks from now until the end of January. The hats, gloves and socks need to be new, but the shoes and coats do not have to be new but should be in good condition!  They are in desperate need of coats size 3XL and up and shoes size 13 and up.  Feel free to bring any of the items on Sunday morning and place them by the mission tree in back of the Worship Center.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

One of the most exciting and special worship services of the year is our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.  We come together as family and friends to celebrate the birth of our Savior.  The service will begin at 7:00pm on December 24th.  In the midst of our Christmas gatherings, let’s join together for a time of carols, candles and hearing the story of Jesus' Birth.

Year End Giving

Sunday, December 30th, will be the last Sunday we can receive monetary gifts to either the General or Building Fund in order for them to be posted on your 2018 giving statement.

Please pray for those who are healing and recovering, for Baby Cyril, born nine weeks premature and facing serious medical challenges in the NICU, for Rick and Betty Corder’s brother-in-law Chuck who has serious health issues, for Keelie Weiler who will be away from home this Christmas season, for Becky Whitton as she has kidney stones, for wisdom and strength to forgive, for those who are fighting health issues, for those who are working through difficult relationship issues, for those who are dealing with anxiety and depression, for those who struggle during the holiday season, for our college students, for Crosspoint to continue to grow into what God is calling us to be.

The children are thankful for God and Jesus, Mom and Dad, friends and family, lacrosse, and a new karate belt. They ask for God’s help with homework, tests, memorizing lines, and snow.
