Weekly Updates

Healthy Church Initiative

Our Healthy Church Initiative weekend was an exciting time of sharing and learning.  Now it is time to discuss and discern what God is calling Crosspoint to be.  The HCI report is complete and can be found on the Information Table on Sunday.  We will be having “Town Hall” meetings to discuss the next steps of the report and to answer any questions.  The last Town Hall meeting is scheduled for Sunday February 25, 2018, Noon.  The meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend.  We will hold a Charge Conference on Sunday, March 4, 2018, immediately following worship to vote yes or no on accepting the report.  Each of us are encouraged to read the report and pray for understanding of what God is calling Crosspoint to be!

Breakfast for Dinner!

What is even better than an all-church dinner? An all-church Breakfast for Dinner! Join us Sunday, March 4th at 6:00 p.m.  We will provide the pancakes and coffee. We are asking people to sign up at the information table on Sunday to bring sausage, bacon, egg casseroles, fruit and juice. Please sign up if you are able to bring something or if you are able to come and eat.  Be sure to bring your friends and your appetites. Contact Janice or Ashley Spangler (330-904-3434) with any questions.

Royal Family Kids' Camp (RFKC)

Mark your calendars for this year's camp:  July 8th – 13th.  RFKC is a one week camp that Church of the Lakes and Crosspoint sponsor to provide an experience of love, success and hope for children in the foster care system ages 7 - 11 years.  Both volunteers and monetary donations are needed.   Sign up forms and donation envelopes are at the Information Table on Sunday Mornings.  Please consider helping with this great outreach - it is an amazing experience!

Golf League

The Church of the Lakes Golf League will be starting before you know it.  The 20 week league will begin in April (specific date TBD) and runs through September.  We play on Wednesdays with tee times at 5:18, 5:26 and 5:34 at Tam O'Shanter on the Dales Course.  If interested, please contact Johnny Mayer with any questions and for costs!

Crosspoint Mission Trip

Crosspoint is doing our Mission Trip to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center (MMDC) in Chatham, Illinois this summer from Sunday, July 1st – Friday July 6th.  We would love to have you go with us.  We'll stay right on the MMDC campus in their dorm.  It is an awesome trip where we'll get to know each other better and be able to help provide needed items for people around the world.  Look for information brochures on the mission table and we will also have an informational meeting coming up as well. If you have questions or would like to say "yes I'm going", please talk with Johnny Mayer, 330-592-3698 or mayerjm@sbcglobal.net or in person!

Cross-Point Guards

Calling all basketball players.  Crosspoint is hosting a basketball night every Sunday evening.  Anyone 16 years and older is invited to play.  We will play from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  At “half-time” we will share a 5-10 minute devotional followed by prayer.  You do not have to be there the entire time to participate, if you can just come for an hour we would love to have you.  If you have any questions call or text Alex Boyd 330-268-7443.

The “I Am” Sayings of Jesus

“One by one, the “I Am” statements of Jesus grab our imagination, reveal more about his identity and purpose, and connect us to the God of Moses, who spoke the first "I Am." These significant yet ordinary images (bread, light, shepherd, vine) give us insightful ways to experience Jesus and point us to a God who wants to be known.”  Rob Fuquay

Jesus continues to ask "Who do you say I am?"  This Lent we will explore the "I Am" sayings of Jesus found in the Gospel of John.  Each Sunday we will discuss one of the I Am statements Jesus used to describe himself and what that statement tells us about how God was to be known in each of our lives.

Please pray for those who are healing and recovering, a loved one having surgery, Alan Neal who has knee surgery on Monday, Doris Fowler and family for health concerns, for smooth transitions in life, for those who are fighting illness, for those who are struggling with anxiety and depression, for the individuals and families affected by the school shooting in Florida, for Crosspoint to continue to grow into what God is calling us to be.

The children are thankful for the Talent Show, Mom and Dad, school, house over our head, friends and family.

The children ask for help with homework and convincing mom to get Poptarts.
