Children's Ministry

Children are a valued part of our Crosspoint family!  Our Kids’ Ministries are specifically designed for kids to learn about and experience God in fun and developmentally-appropriate ways.  Interested in learning more?  Contact our Director of Youth & Children’s Ministries, Rev. Amy Price at amyeprice85@gmail.com.  Is this your first time?  You and your child are welcome to sit in and participate (as much as you are comfortable) in any of these programs.

Sunday School 9:30-10:20am

All kids in preschool through fifth grade are encouraged to attend Sunday School!  Each week parents sign in their child and then he or she heads back to the JAM Room to hear our Storyteller introduce the theme and Bible story for the day.  After a special prayer time, kids are split into Small Groups based on grade levels.  During Small Group time, kids and their leaders interact with the Bible story through discussion, games, and hands-on activities.  Parents should pick up their child in their designated Small Group area at 10:20am.

JAM

Our worship service is kid-friendly, but we realize that not all kids are able to sit through a sermon.  Every week, preschool through second graders are offered the opportunity to sing and pray with the congregation, and then head out for a 20-25 minute session that is just right for them!  JAM builds upon what is learned in Sunday School that week, so even if kids miss Sunday School, they will still hear the Bible story and engage with it in a meaningful way.  Parents should pick up their child after worship in the JAM room.

Junior Church

On the 2nd and 4th Sundays, our 3rd-5th graders also can participate in a program (like JAM) designed for older elementary students.  Junior Church offers a lesson and game that matches the sermon each week.  Parents should pick up their child after worship in the Junior Church Room.

Nursery/Toddler Care 10:30-11:30am

Each Sunday our Nursery/Toddler Room is staffed by loving volunteers ready to play, rock, and care for our little ones!  This area is available for newborns through age three.  Please be sure to advise the attendants of any special need your little one requires.

Children’s Choir

All children interested in singing are welcome!  The choir prepares for a Christmas program and shares their musical gifts in worship during the school year.  For more info, contact Rosemary Greenawalt.

Important Info

Communication

How will you know what’s going on?  Each week either a print or electronic Parent Page will be sent home with each child, with suggestions for parents about how to talk to their child about that week’s Bible story, as well as prayer-time suggestions.  Information about upcoming events will be sent this way as well.  Additionally, information will be communicated in the printed worship bulletins, church website, and on the Crosspoint Facebook page.

Registration

“Why do I have to register/check-in my child?  I know her teacher already.”  That’s a great question.  One of our favorite parts of Crosspoint is our tight-knit church family!  However, it is vital that we have a central location to reference all crucial information about a child, such as his or her allergies, special needs, and emergency contact information.  We register our little ones for soccer, school, and camp--why not Kids’ Ministry?  Use the simple registration form and you’re all set!  (Please make sure to update it during the year if any information changes)

Check-In/Check-Out

We love our kids and it is very important to us that they are safe and well cared for during any Kids’ Ministry event.  This is why we ask parents to check-in and check-out their child wherever available.  It’s a simple process to stop by the Check-In desk, initial for your child, and walk them back to their room.  After the program ends, simply walk to their room, initial the clipboard to pick up your child, and you’re on your way!  You can even designate up to three others who can check-in/check-out your child in case you are unavailable.

Who are their Leaders?

All Kids’ Ministry Leaders have been specially selected and trained for their role.  Each is serving in a way that God has uniquely gifted them.  Our leaders are not only trained to teach children but in keeping them safe.  Leaders wear special name tags each week that identify them as Kids’ Ministry Leaders.  Parents are encouraged to introduce themselves to their child’s Leader.
